Strengthening Your Skills to Enhance Your Life

Occupational Therapy (OT) uses assessment and treatment to develop, recover or maintain daily living and work skills for people with physical, mental or cognitive disorders. Adapting the environment, tasks or tools, along with patient and family education can facilitate the return to activities that are meaningful to patients.
At GSC Therapy, our OT staff is unique in that we treat patients with any physical condition including spine, lower body, foot and ankle and neurological conditions. Outpatient occupational therapy uses physical agent modalities and mechanical devices and focuses on function so that our patients can return to their normal daily activities. We solve problems and make recommendations for adaptive equipment and modified tasks so that our patients can return to self-care, home, work and leisure activities. Body mechanics training can prevent injuries in the work place or at home.
Our OT staff works in our outpatient orthopedic clinics, on site with large employers and at our assisted living communities. In addition to restoring physical abilities, the OT staff at GSC Therapy Services can assist patients and their families address cognitive deficits and memory loss.
